About Me

Welcome! I’m Dr. Brandi Berry, the owner and operator of Kastenberry Coaching and Consulting LLC. Here are a few things I want you to know about me:

I get it.

When I become a foster/adoptive mom, I knew I’d be dealing with some difficult behaviors but I had no idea how much these behaviors would take over my life. On any given day, the children in my care would lie, steal, scream, cry, hit, hoard, vape, break things, access inappropriate websites, etc. My home stopped being my safe place and became a place I dreaded. And then it was no longer contained to my home and I started getting calls from the school and the police. I was so ashamed to be pulled into these school meetings, sitting down with police officers, and going to court; I felt like a terrible mother. Thankfully, things have improved greatly over the past few years and the children in my care are now thriving. But I wish I’d had help from someone who could have coached me in understanding and managing these behaviors. And I wish I’d had support from someone who understood, not just from people who judged me or from people who sympathized with me but then went home to their honor roll, rule-following kids. I felt alone and hopeless. Maybe you’ve felt that way, too. But after parent coaching, my hope is to leave you feeling supported, empowered, and equipped with specific steps you can take to improve your children’s behaviors and take back control of your home (and happiness).

I can help.

In addition to my personal experiences, I have extensive professional experience helping parents manage their children’s and teens’ behaviors and helping families navigate the special education and juvenile justice system.  Since graduating with my doctorate in Educational Psychology in 2015, I have been working with families whose children and adolescents are experiencing mental illness, disabilities, and/or behavioral concerns. I have also been delivering speeches and presentations to educational groups around the state on topics such as foster care, special education, and ADHD symptoms. In my practice and in my speaking, my ultimate goal is to “give psychology away” so that you can take away important concepts about child and adolescent development, human behavior, and evidence-based interventions—ideally, in a single presentation or just a few coaching sessions!

I am available.

I live in the Northwoods of Wisconsin with my husband, kids, dogs, and cats. I have a flexible schedule so I can meet with you days, evenings, or weekends, whichever you prefer. Although I primarily coach families via Microsoft Teams, I can also arrange coaching sessions to occur in-person or via phone. Although many providers have long waitlists, I am typically able to schedule families for their first coaching session within 72 hours of their free consultation. For consultation purposes, I am open to traveling and I offer both short, focused speeches as well as lengthier presentations and workshops.
